Sparta – Zlín 4: 6, Sparta lost to the last Zlín, the back of the winners Gazda shone with a hat-trick

Sparta presented itself on its own ice for the second time in the last 12 matches and started actively. Despite the predominance of the home team, however, the Rams developed the first serious chance. Flynn passed the Spartan defense in the sixth minute, but his backhand attempt did not fit between the three bars of the goal guarded by Salák.

Sobotka, who beat Hufa in the Zlín goal more than twice from the finish, punished the guests for an unused chance two minutes later. Sparta’s management didn’t last long, the sympathetically playing guests equalized in the 11th minute, when the puck bounced off the skates of the shielding Honejsk and ended up behind Salák.

At the end of the third, Sparta pushed on the Zlín defense and got into several interesting opportunities. With 17 minutes played, the visitors could have scored the tying goal after Přibyl came through the middle, but his kick went wide. From another chance, the people of Prague already struck: The guy was given a lot of space on the right wing and returned Sparta’s lead with a sharp wrist.

Erik Thorell, the most productive extra-league player, had the first big chance in the second half in the 24th minute. The Swedish hockey player appeared alone in front of Huf’s goal, but instead of finishing, he chose a pass that the defense was able to block. In the 28th minute, Zlín equalized from an inconspicuous action. After a few bounces, Mamčics’ throw from the blue line reached Vesely, who had no problem overcoming the disoriented Salák.

In the 34th minute, the Rams were able to take the lead for the first time, but from a huge barrier in front of Salák’s goal, they only fired a stick and practically collected from the counterattack. Despite the commuter defender’s foul, the final one used a solo escape and sent Sparta into the lead for the third time.

But Sparta didn’t last long either. Zlín pushed the home team into the defensive zone in a power play, and after several promising shooting opportunities, the puck got to Gazda, who burned Salák from the right circle for the third time.

The indiscipline of Sparta hockey players also led to the fourth goal of Zlín. At the beginning of the third part, the Spartans offered the guests two consecutive numerical benefits and, after 28 seconds, collected the second one. In the time of 44:31, the 20-year-old Latvian Zabusovs scored his first goal in the extra league and sent Zlín to the lead for the first time in the match.

In the end, Sparta stepped up its pressure and three minutes before the end of the basic playing time after Řepík’s escape with Sobotka, it celebrated a 4: 4 equalization. But the conclusion belonged to the guests, namely Gazd, who first returned Zlín to the lead and then ended the hat-trick.
