Spanish infante Cristina and her husband Iñaki Urdangarí, convicted of corruption and recently photographed with another woman, split. They announced this on Monday in a statement to the Spanish news agency EFE.

“We have decided by mutual consent to end our marital relationship,” the statement said. The sister of Spain’s King Felipe and the former handball player have been married for almost 25 years. They have four children together.
On Wednesday, a Spanish magazine published photos of Urdangarín walking hand in hand with another woman. It would be a colleague from the law firm where he works.
Prison sentence
Cristina and Urdangarín married in October 1997, a year after they met at the Atlanta Olympics. Since 2013, the couple has lived in Geneva, away from the Spanish paparazzi. Urdangarín has been serving a prison sentence of five years and ten months since 2018 after being convicted of fraud and embezzlement in June 2018. He was released early last year when the prison sentence was commuted to community service.
Cristina also appeared in court. She was charged with complicity in her husband’s tax fraud, but was eventually acquitted. The princess, sixth in line to the throne, was the first close relative of a king in Spanish history to be charged by the courts. She and Urdangarín were barred from all activities of the palace.
