Sp. Tomar Beats FC Porto 5-3 and Takes Command of Champions League Group C

Sp. Tomar received and beat FC Porto (5-3) and isolated itself in command of Group C of the Champions League, after the 2nd round, which will only be completed with the derby between Sporting and Benfica ( Group B), postponed to January 17, 2024. The blue and whites started better and after 10 minutes they scored through Carlo Di Benedetto, but Sp. Tomar went on the attack and, after 2 minutes, they equalized, through Franco Ferruccio, while Alexandre Marques performed the somersault on the scoreboard just before the break. In extra time, FC Porto tried to avoid the match and were successful with Di Benedetto scoring twice and equalizing after 4 minutes.

However, in response, the Nabantinos showed above-average finishing efficiency. Ferruccio also scored twice after 20 seconds and André Centeno increased his count, with 13 minutes remaining.

FC Porto did not give up and did everything they could to get back into the game and the inevitable Di Benedetto scored the hat-trick 10 minutes from the end, reducing it to 4-3.

As the minutes ticked by, the clock began to unnerve the away team, who were again surprised, with Gonçalo Neto increasing the count with a direct free kick (5-3) with 3 minutes to go.

The last minutes were desperate for Porto and Sp. Tomar controlled.
