Soviet recipes are effective against coronavirus

The debut of the coronavirus pandemic divided the health systems of developed countries into two groups.

– –

The first group of countries (South Korea and Japan) prevented mass infection of the population, and their inpatient care resources avoided the apocalypse in hospitals, achieved low mortality and did not create significant interference with the treatment of other patients. The countries of the second group (Italy and Spain) created the conditions for the exponential growth of the infected, and their hospitals were choked with the flow of patients, often requiring mechanical ventilation. The mortality rate from coronavirus in Italy and Spain, many times higher than in the countries of the first group, leads to an increase in mortality from “ordinary” diseases.

Statistics from both groups of countries are recognized as credible, and their health care is exemplary. Spain, Italy, Japan, and South Korea occupy the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th places respectively in Bloomberg’s The Most Efficient Health Care global list of effectiveness (2018).

Why are there such different results in the fight against the epidemic that Russia needs to take into account?
