South Korean doctors and politicians are calling for an end to the flu vaccination program. Residents are worried after 32 deaths

SERAMBINEWS.COM – Yonhap News reports that forensic authorities in South Korea have found no link between the death of a 17 year old boy and the flu shot.

The confirmation by the South Korean government comes amid growing concerns about vaccine safety following the deaths of 32 people in the country.

The teenager is one of the first to die as part of a government campaign to vaccinate nearly 30 million people from a total population of 52 million to help prevent complications from the coronavirus.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), the death toll was 25 as of Thursday last week.

The case prompted doctors and politicians to ask the South Korean government to stop the program.

Yonhap News reported on Friday that there were seven new deaths yesterday.

South Korean health officials refused to suspend the campaign because there was no evidence of a direct link between deaths and vaccines.

Citing police, Yonhap said that South Korea’s national forensic service conducted an autopsy on some of the dead and found that the vaccine did not cause the 17-year-old girl’s death.
