South Japek Toll Project Completed by the End of 2022, Take a Peek at the Progress

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Jasa Marga Tbk through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Japek Selatan (JJS) is targeting construction South Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road Section 3 (Tamanmekar-Sadang) could be completed by the end of 2022.

PT JJS as the manager of the South Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road, noted that the construction progress for the Japek II South Section 3 (Tamanmekar-Sadang) toll road until the end of January 2022 has reached 60.82 percent.

President Director of PT JJS D Hari Pratama explained that currently the ongoing construction progress for the entire South Japek II Toll Road is prioritized on Section 3 which is included in the Karawang and Purwakarta Regencies.

“The progress of land acquisition for the three sections of work currently reaches 57.18 percent,” said Hari.

Land acquisition for each section, namely Section 3 (Tamanmekar-Sadang) has reached 92.04 percent, Section 2 Setu-Tamanmekar by 38.29 percent and Section 1 Jatiasih-Setu by 3.29 percent.

Hari also explained that in building the South Japek II Toll Road from Sadang (Purwakarta Regency) to Setu (Bekasi Regency) the land acquisition process was prioritized in the locations of Bekasi Regency, Karawang Regency, and Purwakarta Regency (Section 2 and Section 3).

“We are targeting the completion of the construction of Section 3 (Tamanmekar-Sadang) by the end of 2022 with a planned operation in early 2023,” he explained.

PT JJS continues to support efforts to accelerate land acquisition carried out by the Commitment Making Officer Team (PPK) of the Ministry of PUPR and continues to coordinate with contractors and supervising consultants for construction.

The Japek II Selatan Toll Road requires a total investment of Rp. 14.69 trillion and a concession period of 35 years.

With the presence of this toll road, it is hoped that it will reduce travel time from Jakarta to Cikampek from the south side if it is fully operational.

The Japek II South Toll Road will later have 7 (seven) Toll Gates (GT), namely, GT Jati Asih, GT Bantar Gebang, GT Setu, GT Sukaragam, GT Taman Mekar, GT Kutanegara, and GT Sadang.
