Sores Appears on Fingers, Face, and Mouth

Jakarta

A man in England, Lake Javan, shared his bitter experience of being exposed to monkeypox. He had injuries to his fingers and face. Through his Twitter account with more than 27 thousand followers, he reminded people that monkeypox really exists and is not just a joke.

“If I had the chance to get a vaccine before this, I would 100 percent miss all this pain and possible scarring,” Javan said via Twitter account @DatSexyGoose, Tuesday (26/7/2022), while uploading two photos of himself. One photo shows a bloody cut on the finger, the other shows a hole in the face around the chin.

Javan further revealed that he experienced extreme symptoms in the form of chills, chronic fatigue, headaches, and body aches. He had taken paracetamol. But over time, these symptoms develop until a pus-filled lump appears on the face and inside of the mouth.

“When I’m not cold, I wake up sweating. During the sick stage, large pus-filled bumps form on my face and on the inside of my mouth. At first it was more unsightly and irritating than anything else,” said Javan.

“But over time my pain stage progressed to a high level of pain and now it’s bleeding rather than pus. It’s made it impossible for me to eat or drink anything without wanting to cry. There are lesions all over my body, they are small and more itchy at this stage.” he continued.

Quoted from Express UK, here is a list of symptoms of monkeypox according to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS):
