Sony will say “at some point” about other colors for the PlayStation 5 and DualSense

With the color scheme of the PlayStation 5 and the accompanying accessories, Sony has taken a different path than we are used to from them. After all, the console, the DualSense controller and all other official products are colored black and white, instead of the all-black design that was standard with previous generations. The choice for black and white is in any case bold and although it is popular with many, there are still people who like to see other color variations.

In his live stream around the DualSense controller, Geoff Keighley had the opportunity to speak to Eric Lempel – Sony’s Worldwide Head of Marketing – and Keighley also asked him about this topic in his interview. Lempel was asked if there are other colors for the PlayStation 5 and the DualSense planned and he replied by saying that Sony will share “at some point”. For the time being, the focus is only on the standard models with black and white, and according to Lempel it is already quite a challenge to put those products on the market now.

For the time being, we have to do without other color schemes, so there is unfortunately no good news for those who like to see the PlayStation 5 in a different jacket. At the same time, Lempel suggests with his answer that we can certainly expect other colors at a later time. Given Sony’s approach with the previous console generations, it is certainly in line with the expectation that new colors will be introduced gradually, although we will have to wait for that for a while.
