Sony will launch the first PS5 games on June 4th

Sony will be launching the first (own) games for PlayStation 5 on June 4 at 10:00 p.m., which will be available when the console launches at Christmas 2020 and beyond. The digital presentation should last a little over an hour. The event is broadcast on YouTube, Twitch and PlayStation.com. Jim Ryan (President & CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment) promises a look into the “future of gaming for PlayStation 5”.

Jim Ryan: “There are few things as exciting as launching a new console. Although this path to start was a little … different, we are always happy to be with you on this path to redefine the future of video games. We told you about the specs and showed you the new DualSense wireless controller, but what is a start without games?

So I’m happy to announce that we will soon be giving you a first look at the games you’ll be playing at Christmas after PlayStation 5 launches. The games for PS5 are the best in the industry from innovative studios around the world. Studios, both large and small, the newer and more established, have all worked hard to develop games that will unlock the potential of hardware.

This digital presentation will run for just over an hour and for the first time we will all be able to virtually share the excitement together. The current lack of local events offers us an amazing opportunity to think differently and take you on this journey, and hopefully closer than ever. This is part of our series of updates on the PS5 and, rest assured, we’ll be sharing a lot with you after next week’s presentation. ”
