Sony: Ten PlayStation 4 Games Not Working on PlayStation 5 – Gaming – News

Ten games for the PlayStation 4 will not work on the upcoming PlayStation 5. Afro Samurai 2, Hitman Go and Shadow Complex Remastered, among others, will not work on the new console. Some PS4 games get better graphics due to the Game Boost feature.

In total there are ten games with which the PlayStation 5 is not backwards compatible, Sony writes in an update around that topic. These are DWVR, Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma, TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2, Just Deal With It !, Shadow Complex Remastered, Robinson The Journey, We Sing, Hitman Go Definitive Edition, Shadwen and Joe’s Diner. Those are the only games that Sony mentions for the time being. The company is thus repeating that ‘the vast majority’ of PS4 games would work on the PS5.

Sony does warn that ‘some functions’ of the PS4 games do not work on the PS5, although it does not mention examples. In addition, some PS4 games can exhibit error and unexpected behavior ‘when played on the PS5,’ the company said.

Some older games would also run smoother and with a higher frame rate on the new console, Sony writes. That’s because of the PS5’s Game Boost feature, but Sony doesn’t write about the exact games involved.
