Sony shows 60fps mode of Spider-Man Remastered for PlayStation 5 – Gaming – News

Sony has announced more details about the remaster of Marvel’s Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 5. The publisher also shows images of the Performance Mode, in which the game runs at 60fps. Spider-Man looks more like actor Tom Holland in the remaster.

Sony shows a short gameplay video on his PlayStation blog, which features Spider-Man Remastered’s Performance Mode. In this mode the game runs at 60fps. It is not yet known what the exact resolution is and what the difference is with the mode that focuses on the best image quality.

Developer Insomniac previously announced that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also get an optional 60fps mode. Images of that game shown so far have been taken in 30fps mode, with an emphasis on the best image quality.

According to Sony, Spider-Man Remastered on the PlayStation 5 has virtually no loading times. 3D audio will also be added, which will work with headsets that are compatible with it. Furthermore, the game is adjusted to use the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. The remaster also includes the photo mode developed for Miles Morales, in which players can place light sources in the environment and adjust Spider-Man’s out-fit while taking the photo.

Characters are much more detailed in the PlayStation 5 version, according to Sony. That should show in the rendering of the skin, eyes, teeth, and individually rendered hair. Peter Parker gets a completely new face in the PS5 version: that of actor Ben Jordan. The PS4 version of the game uses John Bubniak’s face. Sony states that the new face is closer to the captures that are made. The new face also looks more like Tom Holland, the actor who takes on the role of Peter Parker in recent Spider-Man films.

According to developer Insomniac it was necessary to use a new face model to show ‘next-gen performance’. The face of the new actor would better match that of Yuri Lowenthal. That’s the actor who is the actual motion capturerecordings for the game.

Spider-Man Remastered will be released on November 19, coinciding with the release of PlayStation 5. The re-release is only available for purchase as part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. That new game costs 60 euros. Owners of that game can buy the remaster for 20 euros. Sony will also release an Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It costs 80 euros and contains both the new game and the remaster.

Players who have already purchased Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 will not receive a free upgrade. It is possible to purchase Miles Morales for the PS4 and update to the PS5 version for free later.
