Sony has officially announced the RX1R III, the latest iteration of its highly regarded compact full-frame camera. This new model promises notable advancements in both still photography and video capabilities, building upon the legacy of its predecessors.

At the heart of the RX1R III is a 61MP full-frame Exmor R BSI sensor,a significant leap in resolution that ensures extraordinary detail and clarity in every shot. This sensor is paired with the BIONZ XR and AI Processing Unit, a combination that drives the camera’s advanced autofocus system and overall performance. The RX1R III offers robust video recording capabilities, including full pixel readout at up to UHD 4K resolution at frame rates up to 30p. The camera also supports 4K 60p 10-bit and Full HD 120p video recording, providing adaptability for a wide range of creative projects.

Sony has equipped the RX1R III with S-Log3 and S-Gamut3.Cine Gamma Curves, enabling over 15 stops of dynamic range and offering extensive flexibility in post-production. This allows for seamless matching of footage with other Sony Cinema Line cameras.Additionally, the S-Cinetone color profile, derived from Sony’s professional VENICE cinema camera, delivers natural mid-tones, soft colors, and well-controlled highlights, along with pleasing skin tone rendering.
