Sony announces a State Of Play conference for this week. The firm has already given the outlines of its event to avoid disappointment.

After taking stock of PlayStation 5 compatible accessories, Sony is keeping the floor and announcing a new State of Play event to watch live this week. This event had been the subject of rumors for several weeks, and we imagined that it would be the occasion for Sony to announce the price and the pre-orders of the new console. This will ultimately not be the case.
Third-party publisher games put on the show
In fact, to avoid disappointment, Sony announces now that this State of Play will not contain any announcements concerning the PlayStation 5. It will only be a question of new games for the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation VR and some PlayStation 5 games, which were notably unveiled in June. Most of the conference will focus on games from the previous generation. In addition, all games presented will only be those of third-party developers or publishers, PlayStation Studios will not be present during this State of Play.
It’s sort of the mirror event of the Xbox one made in May, where the firm had also unveiled games coming out on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, without making any announcements from its internal studios.
The event should last approximately 40 minutes, and should contain “real nuggets in reserve, new gameplay clips, and the latest game news”, But we should certainly not expect major announcements capable of upsetting the industry.

The State Of Play will be broadcast live by Sony this Thursday, August 6 from 10 p.m. It will be followed on the Youtube channel of the brand, or on its channel Twitch.
