Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun known as a famous actress from South Korea. The two have played a number of roles over the past 20 years. No wonder Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun are the highest-paid Korean actresses.
According to Chosun, Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun were paid 200 million won (Rp 2.4 billion) per episode. The payment was obtained by both of them from the Korean drama on going which they starred in this year.
Song Hye Kyo is paired with Jang Ki Yong in the Korean drama Now We Are Breaking. Meanwhile, Jun Ji Hyun was reunited with her co-star in the Korean drama Kingdom, Ju Ji Hoon in the Korean drama Jirisan.
Both the Korean dramas Now We Are Breaking and Jirisan consist of 16 episodes. It means Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun received a total fee of 3.2 billion won (Rp 38.8 billion).
The broadcast of the Korean drama Now We Are Breaking Up has been eagerly awaited as it marks Song Hye Kyo’s comeback after three years. Song Joong Ki’s ex-wife last starred in the Korean drama Encounter in 2018.
When starring in the Korean drama Encounter, Song Hye Kyo reportedly got paid 100 million won (Rp 1.2 billion) per episode. That means Song Hye Kyo’s pay has doubled in the last three years.
Likewise, Jun Ji Hyun, who last starred in the Korean drama The Legend of the Blue Sea in 2016. Her salary has doubled like Song Hye Kyo’s because it is reported that she gets paid 100 million won (Rp 1.2 billion) per episode.
Even so, there is a wage gap between actors and actresses in South Korea. Kim Soo Hyun who is known as the most expensive actor gets paid much higher than Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun. The actor pocketed 500 million won (Rp 6 billion) per episode of the Korean drama Ongoing One Ordinary Day.
