The 22-year-old Bansi disappeared from one moment to the next in February 2018 and has been missing since then. At the time of her disappearance, the biomedical sciences student was eight weeks pregnant with Manodj B., with whose family she lived after her arrival from Suriname.

The situation caused great tensions and many quarrels in the family. In a previous pregnancy in September 2017, Bansi had agreed to an abortion under pressure from the host family, but now she was determined to keep the baby, it turned out. Like the Public Prosecution Service, the court is convinced that Manodj B. then violently killed her and disposed of her body.
