Some shops and establishments will reopen, Prime Minister Babiš revealed

Modification of the list of necessary goods that shops can offer and opening of a stationery store. These are the points that the government was to discuss on Monday, among other things. However, it is already certain that some other shops and establishments will also open from the beginning of the week.

“In addition to the stationery store, children’s clothing, footwear and underwear stores will also open from Tuesday. The government will approve it on Monday,” Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) told Czech Television.

Precisely because of the urging of parents and other people, the Minister of Health, Jan Blatný (for YES), admitted that the list of necessary things that can be sold in shops must change. According to the minister, the cabinet is aware that this list is changing as the seasons change.

“As part of the adjustment of the PES that we are planning, this list will also be adjusted. Probably paper products will be included there. It is necessary because of the children,” Blatný said.

The government should not discuss the relaxation of the established measures and the transfer to the fourth stage of the anti-epidemic PES system until Wednesday. This was stated by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Transport Karel Havlíček (for YES) in the program Partie televize Prima.

However, according to Havlíček, the disintegration will depend on the development of the coronavirus situation in the coming days. “We have to be careful. We don’t want an extra day of restrictions, but we have to be sure that the situation will not get worse again quickly after the opening,” the minister explained.

The government also plans to ask the Chamber of Deputies on Monday to extend the state of emergency for another 30 days. It is still valid until January 22.
