On the Trois-Rivières side, 11 people were caught violating the curfew without justification, which earned them a fine.

In addition, some citizens responded to the call for demonstrations that was widespread in several cities. They, gathered at Lambert Park at 7:30 p.m., however decided to go home after discussing with the police and therefore did not receive a statement of offense.

In Saguenay, the police said on Sunday morning that they had already issued four tickets during the night from Saturday to Sunday, which marked the entry into force of the ban on being away from home between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. .

Remember that the fine provided for in the decree in the event of a violation of the curfew can vary between $ 1,000 and $ 6,000, plus costs, which therefore represents a minimum amount of $ 1,546.

In addition, five citizens received reports for having gathered illegally in a private residence, the police force said.

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean reported 69 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday. The region had more than 500 active cases and around 30 people hospitalized, including five in intensive care.
