Employees solarise they have been fighting for pay rises for several months. On December 8, a strike referendum was launched, and further meetings with the management were organized during this time.
Solaris did not meet the expectations of the employees
The last meeting took place on January 14. Solaris proposed increases in the amount of PLN 270 gross for each employee. Trade unions considered it a billin which they were presented with “a compromise proposal as something the employer was going to introduce anyway.” Solaris said the increases will be implemented from 1st of January. The proof of the act is to be the opinion trade unionists sending a message to employees right after the meeting, which was to prove that it had been prepared earlier with the conviction that Solaris’ proposal would be rejected.

General strike in Solaris
The strike referendum lasted over one and a half miesi±ca. At that time, trade unionists visited other poviats and employees to collect votes. Ultimately, the vote ended on January 18th.

1,342 people voted in the referendum, i.e. 51.7 percent. entitled. For carrying out strike 1244 people were in favor of the general – as much as 92.7 percent. all voters.
This is an unambiguous and devastating result. This gives us a strong mandate for further action

The result of the vote means that the general strike of Solaris employees will start on Monday, January 24 at 6.00. It will run until further notice.
