Sofía Vergara’s ex loses custody of frozen embryos

MIAMI.- Almost seven years after the love separation, the Colombian actress Sofia Vergara and businessman Nick Loeb live a legal dispute over the fate of some embryos that they frozen when they were dating.

Nick Loeb wants to use the embryos to start a family, while Sofía Vergara, who has been married to actor Joe Manganiello since 2015, does not want to have children with the businessman.

Faced with this, a court in Louisiana took Vergara’s side, agreeing with the actress and denying Loeb the custody rights of the frozen embryos.

According to information published by various media, in 2017 the Colombian legally requested in California to prohibit Loeb from having access to frozen embryos without her consent. Process that was performed through in vitro fertilization at the ART Reproductive Center in Beverly Hills, in 2013.

Despite the prohibition presented by Sofía Vergara, the 45-year-old businessman went to a second court in Louisiana, but this also denied his request.

The court alleged that the Colombian’s ex-partner does not have an address in Louisiana or a residence in her name there. Fact that determines that there is no adequate jurisdiction in this case.

Nick Loeb’s lawyer told People that they will appeal to the Louisiana Supreme Court, not feeling satisfied with this decision.
