Soekarno-Hatta Airport Back Crowded After the Rules for the Validation of the Covid-19 Test Amended

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – The number of passengers going back and forth at Soekarno-Hatta Airport has again become crowded after the implementation of new rules regarding the validity period of the Covid-19 test.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s Senior Manager of Communication and Legal Febri Toga Simatupang said the number of passengers had reached tens of thousands.

Febri said, in addition to being welcomed by passengers, the new rules regarding the travel requirements of people set forth in the Task Force Circular No. 9 of 2020 were also accompanied by the operations of all domestic airlines that had begun to reopen.

Despite the increase, Febri said the achievements of passenger movements and aircraft movements at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are still far from the nominal numbers.

Febri explained, for the aircraft’s own movements on normal days before the Covid-19 pandemic, Soetta Airport could serve 1,200-1,300 passenger movements.

“We know about 250-300 flight “per day, there has indeed been an increase, but there are still far more flights per day (before the Covid-19 pandemic),” he said.

Likewise with the movement of passengers. The increase occurred quite significantly at 17-20 thousand per day compared to the homecoming ban some time ago.
