Soccer, hospital visits, and medical students doing the tracking. Details of the Giani ordinance

As we announced this afternoon (Saturday 24 October, click here) there is a new order by the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani to deal with the increase in new infections from Coronavirus. The ordinance, developed together with the new health councilor Simone Bezzini, is aimed firstly at the organization of the regional health system, then at the municipalities and amateur sports clubs.

“We need to create a mechanism that empowers us to self-responsibility to avoid contagion opportunities,” said President Giani. “The ordinance is the first of a series of measures that we will adopt between now and next week and which will be divided into five chapters. The first three are found in the ordinance that I signed today and which will come into force tomorrow, 25 October. The other two measures will be taken on Monday and Tuesday and will concern the school and shopping centers ”.

The new ordinance therefore contains restrictive interventions on three areas:

Health

Limit to visits to hospitals: only particularly fragile patients can be examined by relatives for a very short time.
The operational centers for coordinating the health activities of the three ASLs are activated for an optimal use of all hospital and territorial resources.
Local health authorities will have to find up to at least 1500 rooms in hotel accommodation facilities to be used as a health hotel until the end of December, with the possibility of continuation.
They will need to be activated immediately 30 units Usca (Special Continuity Care Units) for the management of positive Covid cases at home or in healthcare hotels.
Still, they come true tracking centers able to guarantee this function for all new cases of the day, and their contacts to order the eventual quarantine. To do this, medical personnel will be recruited, including those coming from the last two years of university courses.
The ASL will provideo rapid antigenic tests for Rsa, Estar will ensure the supply of 50,000 tests every week for general practitioners and family pediatricians.

Relationship with Municipalities

The Region will provide support for mayors who take measures to prohibit mobility for preventive purposes for part or all of their municipal territory. The action of the Region and the Municipalities will be aimed at opposing any form of gathering.

Sport

From tomorrow until November 14, all activities of competitions and competitions recognized of regional, provincial or local interest by the Coni, the CIP and the respective national sports federations, relating to all contact sports, are suspended. Training is allowed.

As for the other two measures announced by President Giani for next week, on Monday the president will meet the regional school supervisor Ernesto Pellecchia, together with representatives of Anci and Upi, to reduce the physical presence in high schools for students of the second, third and fourth grades, leaving excluded the first and fifth grades that have the maturity exam. An alternation of face-to-face lessons and distance learning is foreseen, also to reduce crowds at the entrance and exit of schools.

Sui shopping centers President Giani said that despite being in favor of entry quota measures, any decision on the matter will be taken only after the meeting scheduled for Tuesday with the economic categories.
