Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – The SC Freiburg is in the Bundesliga today (3:30 p.m. / Sky) before a difficult away game at FSV Mainz 05. The fifth place Freiburg has started the season with eight points so far after four match days, Mainz is still one place in front of the sports club with nine points. SC coach Christian Streich even expects the former relegation candidate “to play for the European Cup”.
It is still questionable whether Freiburg midfielder Nicolas Höfler will be back after a bruised metatarsal in Mainz. Streich put the chances at “50 percent”. Right-back Jonathan Schmid will still be missing, he is in quarantine due to a corona infection.
