Frankfurt / Main (AP) – The second division Würzburger Kickers also failed before the federal court of the German Football Association with its appeal against the 0-2 defeat at Darmstadt 98. With its decision on Wednesday, the committee confirmed the judgment of the sports court of January 25. The lower court, chaired by Hans E. Lorenz, came to the conclusion that the game had been played on December 19, 2020 under regular conditions. The current bottom of the table from Würzburg had challenged the result and justified this with the fact that he had only been able to offer 14 professionals eligible to play.

“The appeal of the Würzburger Kickers was admissible, but not justified, which is why we rejected them. There will therefore be no replay, but the previous game rating will remain,” said Achim Späth, chairman of the DFB Federal Court, in a message from Association cited.
