Yuri Podladtchikov will not find the World Cup this winter. The Olympic snowboard champion, crowned in the halfpipe at the Sochi 2014 Olympics, retired with effect from 31 years. «The time has come to say goodbye, the snowboarder soberly announced in a press release from Swiss-Ski. The Zurich resident thus ended a rich career that began in 2004 under the flag of Russia, his country of origin. The end of his sporting career was marked by repeated injuries for three years. He first tore his cruciate ligaments at the world championships in Sierra Nevada where he won the silver medal. The following year, a terrible fall deprived him of the Pyeong OlympicsChang. In 2019, his left Achilles tendon gave way during the Worlds in Park City.
