Jakarta, Selular.ID – Qualcomm has followed a consistent update schedule with its last few flagship Snapdragon chipsets. Speculation regarding the update schedule has also sprung up, including that the standard version may be released in December 2021, while the Plus model usually arrives in July 2021. Then, approaching that time frame, a new chipset believed to be Snapdragon 888+ has appeared on the Geekbench listing.
The Geekbench listing has revealed major changes to this new chipset. Compared to the regular SD 888, the X1’s core performance is overclocked at 3.0Ghz, compared to 2.84Ghz on the older model. That test revealed four low-power A55 cores running at 1.8GHz, and three additional Cortex-A78 clusters running at 2.4Ghz.
Armed with this arsenal, the SD 888+ scored 1,171 single-core points and 3,704 points on the multi-core test. This score is in line with the results seen from Snapdragon 888-powered devices like last year’s SD 865+, which matched the SD 865.

Unfortunately, there’s no additional info regarding any other changes with the Snapdragon 888+, although last year’s Snapdragon 865+ did offer a slight increase in GPU clock and an upgrade to the FastConnect 6900 chip.
As additional information, last week, Qualcomm has first announced a new chip called Snapdragon 778G. The 6nm chipset is a new variant of the more powerful Snapdragon 780G chipset, which was announced in March.
With the part number SM7325, the Snapdragon 778G 5G is powered by a custom-built Kryo 670 CPU by Cortex-A78, and reaches speeds of 2.4 GHz. The SoC includes Adreno 642L graphics, which provides support for Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL 3S 3.1, OpenCL 2.0 FP, HDR10+, and HDR10.
