In Lelystad, part of a neighborhood has been cordoned off and houses are being evacuated because a suspicious smell is coming from the sewer. According to the fire service, it is not natural gas, but it is not known which substance is smelled.
To be on the safe side, some people have to leave their homes. They are received in a sports hall, others are outside watching the fire brigade and the police.
