Prague, Czech Republic – Slavia Prague has shifted its focus to St. Truiden’s Andrés Ferrari (22) after negotiations for raków Częstochowa’s Jonatan Braut Brunes (25) fell through, according to Infotbal.cz. Slavia is prepared to pay €4.5 million plus bonuses (approximately 110 million Czech crowns) for the Uruguayan forward, who is expected to undergo a medical examination on Tuesday.
The move comes after a potential deal for Brunes, initially valued at €5 million including bonuses, stalled when Raków increased thier demands to €7 million over the weekend and failed to secure a replacement.
Ferrari is expected to bolster Slavia’s attacking options alongside Tomáš Chorý and Mojmír Chytil, offering a different skillset – complementing their speed and defensive work rate.
The forward joined St. Truiden from Villarreal, where he began the 2023/24 season as a reserve. St. Truiden initially acquired Ferrari on loan before making the transfer permanent for €2.5 million.
During his time with the Belgian club, Ferrari made 36 competitive appearances, scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists. He also featured in 30 total matches for Villarreal, recording 10 goals.
A native of Sauca, Uruguay, Ferrari holds an Italian passport.
