Slack Connect could definitely kill the email

For years, Slack has promised us that we will soon be done with the emails extendable which make us waste a monster time. In reality, that is not yet quite the case. With the launch of Slack Connect, a new era may well emerge.

Nearly a million users have already tested Slack Connect in the past few months. Slack’s new service is officially launched today around the world. According to Tamar Yehoshua, product manager at Slack:

“The vision of Slack has always been to build a kind of Slack Connect so that the benefits you get for channel communication within your own organization, you can also get by communicating with other organizations. E-mail has been around for decades… we’ve built a model that has to do without it. ”

Bring instant communication between companies

Having already seduced with a recent major overhaul, Slack is proud to be able to say that Slack Connect has proven itself in many situations. Nando’s, a restaurant in the UK specializing in Indian dishes uses Slack Connect to exchange with its delivery partner Deliveroo. Fastly uses Slack Connect to optimize its customer support and gain responsiveness to its customers. Zendesk uses it to connect with all of its partners.

Slack Connect even allowed doctors to pool their experiences in the fight against Covid-19 in the past few months. Stewart Butterfield, CEO of Slack, says:

“We have been working on this feature for months. With the Slack teams, we are using this new Slack Connect platform to speed up communications with our partners. We want to bring this notion of instant communications between companies. A great way to connect with your customers, suppliers, creative agencies, and more in shared channels and Slack instances. A large part of the exchanges that took place by e-mail will now be done on Slack Connect ”.
