Škoda Auto won the tender for vehicles for the Czech Presidency, it will lend 55 electric cars free of charge

The carmaker will provide the cars for eight months, the state will pay by “in kind” performance.

Delegates at the meeting of the summit and informal Councils of the European Union will drive Škoda Auto electric cars next year during the Czech Presidency.

The carmaker won a competition for car rental in the form of sponsorship. The victory was announced by the Office of the Government in a press release on the contracting authority’s profile. For the transport of delegates, Škoda will lend a total of 55 Enyaq IV electric cars with all-wheel drive. The cars will be in black metallic.

The value of each car is 1.77 million crowns, Škoda will provide it to the state for rent free of charge. “The user (government office, editor’s note) will provide the operator with in-kind (not financial or monetary) consideration for the period of vehicle use, which specifically means the possibility of presenting the operator at all top events organized by the user under the Czech Presidency of the EU Council in 2022,“Stated in the contract.

The Czech Presidency will begin in July, and the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will have cars available from May in order to ensure the highest possible transport safety standards. The cars will transport the highest political figures during their stay in Prague.

The Mladá Boleslav carmaker is another partner of the Czech Presidency. In 2009, it lent 27 Škoda Superb cars to the state.
