Skipping breakfast really fattening? Nothing less sure [VIDÉO] | Food | The Mag | The sun

An Australian study published on Thursday by The BMJ challenges this popular belief by warning that people who eat breakfast then consume more calories during the day. In addition, the authors of the research continue, skipping the first meal of the day is not then responsible for more intense hunger.

The researchers admit, however, that their study does not settle the debate once and for all.

Australian scientists have reviewed 13 studies on the issue over the past 28 years, mainly in the United States and the United Kingdom. They found that people who ate, on average, 260 more calories per day than others. Those who did not eat breakfast weighed 0.44 kg less.

Eating breakfast could help you lose weight, since effective absorption of calories at the start of the day would prevent you from overeating for the next few hours. However, the researchers found no significant difference in the metabolism of those who eat or do not eat breakfast.
