A tumor on the back was discovered in spring 2019 at the former ski flying world record holder Björn Einar Romören (39). A devastating diagnosis for the then 38-year-old Norwegian. He always dealt with the disease openly on social media and showed himself combative and was sure to defeat this “shit”.

After 13 chemotherapy and 36 radiation treatments, he is now considered cured. He told Norwegian TV that he was beginning to feel better and clearer in the head, even if he knew that he would have to go through repeated inspections in the coming years.

Children as motivation
His two children – daughter Fiona was born during his illness – were a great motivation for him during these difficult times. He recently went on a first major hike with them. He is currently working as a marketing manager for the Norwegian ski jumpers after he ended his active career in 2014. (sst)
