In Adelboden, Daniel Yule (26) swings into the hearts of Swiss ski fans. It is the first Swiss victory on the Chuenisbärgli since 2008.
The 26-year-old is already holding legendary status. On Sunday evening he goes for it with a refreshing performance in the “sports panorama”. With thunderous applause, he enters the studio and rings his bell. Good guy!
“It was really cool,” says Yule about the finish line. He chats away from the liver. Without hesitation, just go ahead. Just like he dashed down the Chuenisbärgli. “I would never have dared to dream of that,” said Yule of his much-celebrated triumph. «As a Swiss, there is nothing bigger than winning in Adelboden or Wengen. The feeling was incredible. »The cheers afterwards:« This is my house! »
Bet with Salzgeber
His first appearance in an SRF contribution dates back far. On January 22, 2012 in Kitzbühel, the live broadcast is long over, Yule comes with the number 81, leaves and commentator Dani Kern can be heard: «Oh oh, Mr. Gisin … or who was it? This is Daniel Yule or what’s his name? »
Now, eight podiums and three slalom victories later, Yule has arrived at the Ski Olympus. No trace of arrogance. With his open manner, always with an authentic smile on his face and little jokes in store, he also conquered the TV studio on Leutschenbach.
And then the slalom star and moderator Salzgeber even make a bet. In the event of a win in Wengen (next weekend), Yule will again be a guest in the “sportpanorma”. “No problem,” says Yule with a laugh. And Swiss ski fans wouldn’t mind either. (say)
