Skater XL – Relocation and trailer to community maps released

After a long rest around games related to the popular skateboard hobby, this year, in addition to the announcement of the remaster for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 and the more distant Skate 4, there is also a “newcomer” Skater XL of the Easy Day Studios, which has the advantage of the earliest release date on its side. Unfortunately, this has now been postponed from the beginning of July to July 28, 2020, but is still within reach.

The developer says:

“Despite our efforts and in part due to things beyond our control, we will postpone the physical and digital launch of Skater XL on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC until July 28th. In the coming weeks, we will also be announcing an appointment for the Nintendo Switch version. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to complete the game. Don’t worry – we’ll be presenting more content and features by July 28th, which will be available from launch. We will continue to improve the content and features and make Skater XL the game you all deserved from the start. ”

One of these contents was now shown in the form of three maps, which were all created by members of the community and thus show that the developer attaches great importance to the participation of the fans.

  • Streets by Jean-Olive: A mix of streets inspired by some of the best terrain in the skateboard world. Streets spans multiple city blocks with skatable areas, from San Francisco-style hills to skatable architecture in Spain.
  • Hüdland Training Facility from Pactole: The features of the map include flat bars, stairs, handrails, quarter pipes and more. The camp and skylights are said to give the map a unique appearance.
  • Grant Park by Theo: Grant Park is one of the best public skate parks in Chicago. The three-hectare waterfront park has numerous terrain options, including road and transition features with a focus on flow.

Skater XL appears on July 28, 2020 for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. A release date for the switch version has not yet been given.
