Six people were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Meppel. Among them are five young children, according to police. There are also two minor injuries.
The collision happened around 5:20 p.m. A total of eight people were in the two cars. Several ambulances and trauma helicopters are on the scene. The seriously injured victims were taken to hospital.
Police are investigating how the accident could have happened. Victim support is arranged for those involved, reports RTV Drenthe.
