Five children and a driver of a taxi van were injured in a serious accident on Isabellaweg near IJzendijke in Zeeland. All six were taken to hospital, a police spokesman confirmed to NU.nl on Monday after reporting by the regional broadcaster. PZC.
The spokesman could not comment on the condition of the children.
The driver of the taxi van had to be freed from the vehicle by the fire service. Three ambulances and two trauma helicopters were also on the scene.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident. The taxi went off the road, but it is not clear how. The road is closed.
The report of the single-vehicle accident came in around 2:50 p.m. The first trauma helicopter arrived half an hour later.
