Six people die in Georgia interstate highway accident

Officers received reports of a white Lexus traveling south on a north lane on I-95, said Deputy Liberty County Sheriff Lt. Jason Colvin.

Agents headed there when the accident was reported in the Midway area, he said.

Agents arrived to find a frontal collision between the Lexus and an SUV without survivors, WSAV-TV reported.

The Lexus driver, who had Florida license plates, was killed, said Georgia State Patrol soldier Markus White.

Two adults and three children in the SUV also died. The children were between three and ten years old, authorities said. His car had Virginia license plates.

Midway is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Savannah.
