Six Albany High School musicians have earned a place in the prestigious Area All-State Music Festival, a regional showcase of top student talent, this November.
The Area All-State Concerts, sponsored by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), recognize exceptional high school musicians from nine Capital Region counties. Selection is based on student performance at NYSSMA auditions held last spring, offering a important possibility for artistic growth and recognition. The students will perform at Proctors theater on November 22nd at 2 p.m.
Representing Albany High in the Mixed Chorus are Margaret Ardrey,a junior soprano; Celine Casasola,a junior; and Anna Ustin,a senior. Performing with the Symphonic Band will be sophomore Eli Stanwicks on baritone/euphonium and senior Cameron Volk on flute. Rounding out the Albany High contingent is senior Aidan Carlson, who will perform with the Symphony Orchestra on cello.
School officials commended the students’ dedication and also recognized the contributions of guiding teachers Brendan hoffman,John Halvorsen,and Anthony Berman,whose instruction fosters a passion for music and supports student achievement.
