Situation report on the coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/16/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 20,249 analyzes were carried out and 2,924 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,924 new cases, 1,314 are from Montevideo, 365 from Canelones, 175 from Salto, 147 from Paysandú, 146 from Maldonado, 124 from Colonia, 85 from Artigas, 81 from Rocha, 78 from San José, 70 from Soriano, 65 from Tacuarembó, 57 from Cerro Largo, 37 from Florida, 34 from Río Negro, 34 from Rivera, 33 from Lavalleja, 31 from Durazno, 27 from Treinta y Tres, and 21 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,596,916 tests have been processed and 346,515 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 309,965 have already been recovered.

Today, 31 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (a detailed table is attached). So far, there are 5,120 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 31,430 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 420 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 8,301 correspond to health personnel. 7,975 of them have already recovered, 300 are suffering from the disease and 26 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 343,615. Today 2,924 new cases and a total of 346,515 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 24 cases were eliminated.
