Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 5423 analyzes were carried out and 585 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 585 new cases, 416 are from Montevideo, 58 from Canelones, 39 from Rivera, 25 from San José, 15 from Maldonado, 11 from Cerro Largo, 6 from Lavalleja, 5 from Río Negro, 4 from Rocha, 2 from Artigas, 2 from Colonia, 1 from Paysandú and 1 from Tacuarembó. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 618,802 tests have been processed and 17,306 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 11,966 have already been recovered.

Today 2 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are a 79-year-old patient from Montevideo and an 89-year-old patient from Rocha. So far there are 160 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5180 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 74 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 1,118 correspond to health personnel. 928 of them have already recovered, 187 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.

CLARIFICATION: The total positive cases confirmed until yesterday was 16,728 cases of Coronavirus COVID-19. Today 585 new cases and a total of 17,306 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 7 foreign citizens tested positive and returned to their countries.
