Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/28/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 10,838 analyzes were carried out today and 1,076 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 1,076 new cases, 436 are from Montevideo, 101 from Canelones, 99 from Colonia, 89 from Maldonado, 52 from Artigas, 41 from Paysandú, 36 from Rocha, 36 from Tacuarembó, 31 from San José, 30 from Soriano, 25 from Salto, 22 from Cerro Largo, 21 from Rivera, 19 from Florida, 11 from Durazno, 11 from Lavalleja, 11 from Treinta y Tres, 4 from Río Negro and 1 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,777,583 tests have been processed and 366,915 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 344,803 have already been recovered.

Today, 30 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 5,524 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 16,588 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 285 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 8,557 correspond to health personnel. 8,336 of them have already recovered, 193 are suffering from the disease and 28 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 365,866. Today 1,076 new cases and a total of 366,915 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 27 cases were eliminated.
