Epidemiological report

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 3,973 analyzes were carried out and 522 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 522 new cases, 302 are from Montevideo, 45 from Canelones, 41 from Rivera, 39 from San José, 22 from Durazno, 18 from Maldonado, 13 from Tacuarembó, 12 from Rocha, 9 from Cerro Largo, 7 from Lavalleja, 5 from Treinta y Tres, 4 from Artigas, 3 from Salto and 2 from Colonia. Regarding the epidemiological trace, the outbreaks reported in recent days remain. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 648,741 tests have been processed and 20,275 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 14,592 have already been recovered.

Today 8 new deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. These are 5 patients from Montevideo, 87, 83, 79, 79 and 67 years old, a 47-year-old patient from Canelones, a 90-year-old patient from Maldonado and a 63-year-old patient from Rivera. So far there are 201 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5,482 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease and 64 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 1209 correspond to health personnel. 1,043 of them have already recovered, 163 are suffering from the disease and 3 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.
