Colorful singer Akhinora Kumanova, better known as Nora Nova, has died at the age of 93, Maritsa reports with reference to her friends in social networks.

Under the name Nora Nova, she became the first Bulgarian to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest and enter the Western European charts.

Ahinora was born on May 8, 1928. in the family of a diplomat’s father and an opera singer’s mother. She spent part of her childhood in Berlin, where her father was an ambassador during the time of Tsar Boris III. In early childhood, her mother died. During the war, they returned to Bulgaria with their father and sister. With the advent of communism, her uncle was killed by the people’s court, and her father was twice in the Belene camp.

Subsequently, Ahinora herself was perceived as an “enemy element” due to her participation in the Jazz Optimists orchestra. During this period, she met musicians such as Lea Ivanova and Sasho Sladura. She is known for her song “TSUM, TSUM, TSUM”, which, in addition to Bulgaria, was also recorded on a record in Romania by the Electrecord record company. During the Hungarian events, he was imprisoned and then forcibly divorced by his first husband Pascal.

He left Bulgaria in 1960. after a fictitious marriage at the suggestion of a German from the GDR, who loved her at a concert and offered to leave the country. Subsequently, both fled from East Germany, where they spent some time in a refugee camp.

Because of the good German language, as well as the sensation that presents the story of an escaped East German family and a famous Bulgarian singer, she was noticed by record companies-in 1960. He signed a contract with Electrola, on which 3 gramophone records were released, and subsequently 7 more gramophone records released by Ariola (now part of Sony Music). The producer is the famous Nils Nobach, who at that time produced artists such as Marlene Dietrich, Dalida, Nana Muskuri, Gilber Beko. He gives an idea of the artistic pseudonym “Nora Nova” (from Akhinor Kumanov).

In 1964. Nora Nova was chosen to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Man gewohnt sich so schnell an das Schone” (“How fast to get off good things”). During her performance at the contest, a demonstrator jumped on stage with a poster against the Spanish dictator Franco – “Boycott Franco & Salazar”. The singer took 13th place in 16 countries, which she shares with the songs of Switzerland, Portugal and Yugoslavia. The original Eurovision entry in 1964. it was lost after a fire in a Danish television studio, but the audio recording has been preserved and can be heard on the Internet today. The song still has the longest name in the Eurovision Song Contest.

After Eurovision, Nora Nova took part in the television shows of the Italian Rai Radio Televisione Italiana, where she performed her song “Tombola-Lola”. She recorded her song from Eurovision and in French. In 1982. the actress starred in the TV series “Schwarz Rot Gold”.

After the third divorce, he moved to Munich, where he developed a successful fashion business. At the apogee of his business, he has 6 boutiques, some of which are located in hotels such as Hilton and Sheraton. Subsequently, he opened the Casa-Nova bistro, and in the years before returning to Bulgaria, he was engaged in antiques and furniture.

In the following years, Akhinora Kumanova returned to Bulgaria, where she actively participated in the formation and organization of the SDS. He was engaged in philanthropy, also appeared in television interviews.
