Singer Angèle wins MTV EMA Award for Best Belgian Act

Brussels singer Angèle has won the MTV EMA Award for ‘Best Belgian Act’. She beat the other Belgian artists Blackwave, IBE, Lost Frequencies and OT.

Normally, the winner of the ‘Best Belgian Act’ may represent our country at the MTV European Music Awards (EMA). Due to the corona pandemic, that event will go digitally this year, so Angèle will attend the MTV EMA 2021 together with next year’s winner.

The rest of the local winners will be announced on Facebook Live on Sunday, November 8 at 7pm. The show starts at 9 p.m., which can be followed on MTV, with performances by, among others, Sam Smith, Alicia Keys and David Guetta. International artists such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and BTS also have a chance to win an award.

In previous years MATTN, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Loïc Nottet, Emma Bale and Stromae, among others, won the MTV EMA Award for ‘Best Belgian Act’. Angèle is the first French-speaking singer to win the prize.
