Since the beginning of 2022, 21 residents of Sabu Raijua NTT have been infected with dengue

A total of 21 cases of DHF that emerged were immediately treated and there were no fatalities

Kupang (ANTARA) – The Sabu Raijua Regency Government, East Nusa Tenggara, reported that 21 residents had been infected with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) since the beginning of 2022 until the end of January 2022.

“As many as 21 cases of DHF that emerged were immediately treated and there were no casualties,” said Deputy Regent of Sabu Raijua Yohanes Uly Kale when contacted from Kupang, Tuesday.

He said it was related to the dengue fever that attacked residents in Sabu Raijua Regency.

Uly Kale said the 21 residents who were infected with dengue received immediate medical treatment and currently all of them are in good condition towards recovery.

He said the local government through related agencies was on standby for the handling and prevention of diseases caused by the bites of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes Albopictus mosquitoes.

“Attempts to fumigate or fogging We also do it at areas where there are more dengue cases,” he said.

Furthermore, Uly Kale said that one of the most important aspects in overcoming DHF is strengthening prevention efforts.

Therefore, he said, socialization to the community continues to be carried out to build mutual awareness in protecting the environment in order to avoid the threat of DHF.

“We urge every household to use abate, not to litter, to ensure that there are no puddles of water around their homes and so on,” he said.

He added that socialization and education to the community continued to be carried out on various occasions and in various media so that it was hoped that there would be no significant increase in dengue cases.
