TV channel Russia Today “halts cooperation” with Russian director Anton Krasovsky after his call to drown Ukrainian children who believe that the territory of Ukraine is occupied by Russia. Speaking of which he has declared head of RT Margarita Simonyan.
He called Krasovsky’s statement “wild and disgusting”. “Neither I nor the rest of the team can afford to think that either of us is capable of sharing such a game,” she wrote, adding that “it is hard to believe that Krasovsky sincerely believed that it was necessary to drown children.”
Later, the TV presenter decided to apologize for his words, four days after the broadcast. According to Krasovsky, he felt “really embarrassed”. He explained the call to kill children as follows: “Well, it happens like this: you sit in the air, you are carried. And you can’t stop. I apologize to everyone who was stunned by this.”
“Listen, I’m really embarrassed that I somehow didn’t see this border. Speaking of children,” Krasovsky said.
On October 20, Krasovsky, in a conversation with writer Sergei Lukyanenko broadcast on the author’s program on RT “Antonimi”, among other things, suggested drowning Ukrainian children who believe that the territory of Ukraine is occupied by the Russia. Krasovsky also suggested that these children be burned alive and said Ukraine “shouldn’t exist at all”.
Lukyanenko objected that Ukraine should exist, because “there will be a large number of people with whom one would not want to live in the same state”. “Well, we’ll shoot,” Krasovsky replied.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba solicited after that, all countries of the world banned the broadcast of the Russian state television channel RT, accusing Krasovsky of calling for genocide.
Previously, Krasovsky publicly supported the bombing of the center of the Ukrainian city of Vinnitsa by the Russian army, as a result of which dozens of civilians were killed, and on 10 October, the day the most massive attacks were carried out. missile attacks against Ukrainian cities outside, the journalist posted a video on his social networks, in which he danced on a balcony in his pajamas with the inscription “Army of Russia”.
After the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, RT broadcasts were banned in EU countries and Canada. The US division of RT has ceased operations. At the same time, broadcasts continue, especially in Arabic and Spanish.
