The Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition unofficial project team has released a completely new version. This new version adds support for soft shadows, own shadows, increased blood and improved fog effects.
In addition, this new version increases the drawing distance in certain areas to hide the loading environment. It also improves storage support, increases the resolution of noise effects, and brings some lighting improvements. For example, this fixes an issue where some light sources might not properly illuminate and darken James.
Moreover, Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition now has the Fog Fix option, which brings the fog of the game closer to the PlayStation 2 version. It also increases the speed of the camera in accordance with the PlayStation 2 version.
And last but not least, the game now allows you to block one core of the processor. According to the developers, this can prevent sound looping and performance problems.
