Sigrid Kaag tests positive for corona, Monday not when sworn in on a platform Inland

The landing scene will continue on Monday, but without Kaag, the Government Information Service confirms. The D66 leader will not only become Minister of Finance, but also First Deputy Prime Minister. Traditionally, this is directly to the left of the king in the photo of the landing. Later Monday, she will digitally attend the first council of ministers of the Rutte IV cabinet.

Kaag writes that she feels good despite her infection. “It’s a slightly different start than I had hoped, but I’m going to work full of energy.” She was already in quarantine because someone close to her tested positive. The D66 leader was therefore not present on Saturday at the first meeting of the ministerial team: she attended this so-called ‘constituent deliberation’ digitally. As far as is known, she has therefore not been in the vicinity of other intended ministers.
