The Luanda Provincial Court ordered this Monday the preventive seizure of personal bank accounts and companies in the name of Isabel dos Santos.
The decision also involves the husband and the businesswoman’s wealth manager. At stake are deals with the Angolan state, through companies Sodiam – a public diamond trading company – and oil company Sonangol, which the state has entered into with capital and loans.
Accounts and debts that, according to Angolan Justice, have not yet been settled.
The Angolan Prosecutor’s Office states that with these deals, the State had a total loss of more than US $ 1 billion and, therefore, this preventive seizure of Isabel dos Santos’s accounts and companies, in order to settle debts and loans.
