In a weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, Wednesday, the President of the Republic asked the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of the Armed Forces, “to deploy on the ground a special device of regulation and control over the extent of the territory national ”.

“The Minister of the Interior Aly Ngouille Ndiaye has decided to apply with his men, from this Friday, a new series of decisions”, according to Liberation online. Therefore, we will have to expect police interventions in the name of the fight against the coronavirus. A reinforced police presence will be part of the daily life of Dakar residents. Will the police “refrain from hitting”? Strong reactions from the security forces in the name of protecting the health of citizens are possible.
Looseness was noted. In spaces and places of gathering, restrictions on barrier gestures against the virus are extremely difficult to apply in markets or overcrowded neighborhoods. Scenes of disobedience are repeated everywhere in Senegal, where more than 10,700 cases, including 223 fatalities, have been officially recorded.
