Shopping day to help small businesses

Today is the day known as Small Business Saturday.

This initiative seeks to support local businesses to help them stay afloat.

These businesses have been particularly hard hit by inflation and are still recovering from the effects of the pandemic.

A recent study by American Express found that 61% of small business owners say the current economy makes it even more difficult to compete with large retailers.

96% of business owners believe their social media presence has had a positive impact on business revenue over the past year.

And 45% of merchants with a social network presence say their businesses would struggle to survive without them.

Some industries, like Marcy Plaza in Bedford Stuyvesant, have created special venues to make the most of the initiative and attract shoppers.

In this case, the creation of an open-air shopping plaza in which several local businesses participate. it will provide them with the opportunity to showcase their products and services during the holiday season.
